R. Kelly: Ready To ‘Rise’
R. Kelly isn't
trapped in the closet anymore.
The multiple Grammy Award winning R&B
superstar, who is still enduring legal woes stemming from
the years’ old child pornography charges, continues to
strike a chord with his faithful fan base. It was recently announced that his
longtime record label, Jive/Zomba, would release his latest
song, 'Rise Up,' which is said to be a song of encouragement
in memory of the Virginia Tech victims and in condolence to
their families.
JOE: Back on tape
Though it's been a minute since music
lovers heard the smooth grooves that have been associated
with Joe, he still knows how to stay on top. The one-named monikered Grammy nominated
singer-songwriter will debut at No.1 on the Billboard R&B
Albums chart with his new opus 'Ain't Nothin' Like Me.' According to Nielsen Soundscan figures
released two weeks ago, Joe's sixth album has sold 98,090
units. 'Ain't Nothin'...,' which features
collaborations with Nas, Young Joc,
label mate and self-proclaimed "Savior of Rap"
Papoose, StarGate, Tim & Bob, Cool & Dre and
Sean Garrett, also debuted in the No. 2
spot on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.

ATLANTA REGGAE/SOCA MEGA FEST READY TO
UNFOLD
Plans are firmly in place for the largest-ever Reggae/Soca
Fest to be held in Atlanta. The event, the Georgia Music
Fest is by far the largest event of its kind to be hosted in
Atlanta. It takes place during the highly popular Memorial
Weekend when the Atlanta Carnival is celebrated, amidst
concerns that it has also been characterized by a lack of
quality entertainment.
